E-world 2024: Compleo presents pioneering HPC charging technology and payment solutions in accordance with AFIR

Payment terminals in CITO 500, DUO ims and eTower 200 for secure payment. Ultra-fast HPC charger with modular in-house power electronics enables CPOs to increase sales. Compleo welcomes trade fair visitors in Hall 4, Booth H118.

Dortmund, 9 February 2024 - Charging solutions that comply with calibration law, are flexible and equipped with the latest payment technology are the focus of this year's Compleo Charging Solutions trade fair appearance at E-world, which takes place from 20 to 22 February. Compleo, as a part of the KOSTAL Group company and leading full-service provider of charging technology for electric vehicles in Europe, invites interested parties to discover the latest, versatile products at booth H118 in hall 4. Among others, energy suppliers and charging point operators who are looking for charging solutions for city hubs or want to efficiently equip car parks with charging technology will be addressed. With Compleo solutions such as the CITO 500 with integrated payment terminal, international requirements such as the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) and the German calibration law can be fulfilled easily and on time. Another trade fair highlight at the Compleo stand is the eTower 200, an HPC charging station with added performance and flexibility for operators and users. Its dynamic load allocation via seven power modules maximises the energy output at all times. The benefit is more kilowatt hours sold for charge point operators (CPO).

The AFIR poses major challenges for charge point operators in particular. With the CITO 500, regulatory compliance is child's play, as it is equipped with a payment terminal that complies with calibration law and AFIR and simplifies payment processes during charging. This makes it an ideal solution for locations such as supermarket car parks or car dealerships, where charging with 50 kW is becoming an increasingly important alternative to ultra-fast charging. This is where the CITO 500 comes in: Particularly at smaller grid connections, this DC charging station can also be used to charge vehicles with up to 50 kW DC regardless of their charging power, which is usually reduced to 11 kW AC.

Compleo offers an integrated, fully approved payment terminal for its DC solutions and relies on display solutions for AC charging stations and the eBOX on the hardware side, which enable secure implementation of the AFIR requirements. This offers investment security for operators. New legally prescribed displays for secure and customer-friendly payment can be realised with firmware updates. Examples include specific QR codes for the transparent display of price components. A particular advantage of the Compleo DUO and DUO ims all-in-one AC charging stations with 4.3-inch display is that existing units can be retrofitted with firmware updates to fulfil AFIR requirements.

At E-world, Compleo will also be providing insights into its software platform, which impresses with its user-friendly functions. These are specially designed to minimise complexity in the field of electromobility. The platform not only simplifies the management of charging stations and processes, but also significantly improves the user experience. Compleo's software solution enables operators to easily monetise their charging points. Compleo's latest innovation is an integrated solution that simplifies the payment process at the payment terminal and provides digital receipts.

eTower: high performance plus simple installation and operation

Compleo will also be presenting the brand new eTower 200 to the interested public in Essen. The eTower 200 and its power electronics were designed, developed and produced entirely in-house at Compleo. It enables CPOs to increase their turnover. This is ensured by the dynamic load allocation of seven power modules to two connected vehicles. The high-power charging solution for simultaneous charging at two charging points with a total of up to 200 kW DC can be installed particularly flexibly and operated barrier-free. This makes the eTower ideal for ultra-fast charging at new locations, even if space is limited. As the quietest charger in its class, it is ideal for noise-sensitive areas. The HPC charger combines power with flexibility and reliability, supporting CPOs, installers and end users in their daily operations.

During E-world 2024, interested visitors can get to know Compleo's top technologies such as the CITO 500, the DUO charging station and the eTower 200 in person and learn more about the wide range of options and application scenarios during presentations and live product demos. One concrete example could be the electrification of large car parks: With the patented Power Rail technology of the DUO fleet AC charging stations, up to 30 charging stations can be connected in series, saving up to 50 per cent on installation costs. The Compleo Service RCD of the DUO product family helps to noticeably reduce testing costs during operation. In addition, load management is included as standard with the Compleo hardware - static load management can be configured without additional hardware or software.

Compleo is also demonstrating its clear focus on research and development at E-world. For the first time, the Dortmund-based charging technology manufacturer is presenting a bidirectional charging box for DC charging up to 11 kW. This development is based on the experience of the large-scale field test "Bidirectional Charging Management (BDL)", which was carried out in cooperation with BMW, KOSTAL and other consortium partners. Compleo is driving the development of the DC wallbox to series maturity in order to make a contribution to the energy transition.

"At Compleo, we are actively shaping the electromobility market of the future and offer fully approved, available solutions such as our CITO 500, the eTower and other customised charging solutions that are tailored to specific customer needs," explains Jörg Lohr, CEO of Compleo. "We are looking forward to exciting days at the trade fair and many interested visitors to our stand. With Compleo's charging solutions, we want to boost e-mobility and actively promote the energy transition. We want to provide technical support to operators, energy suppliers and e-vehicle owners exactly where they urgently need it."
